A ELEVEN day cruise visiting ports of Greece, Greek islands, Egypt, Croatia and Turkey, departing from Venice on 30 of October Tuesday afternoon. Piraeus is the port for Athens, where you can step from the shadow of the Acropolis into the world of the modern day Olympics. Sip a coffee with ouzo and join the Greeks in a toast to a new "golden age". At Venice make a private visit to the Peggy Guggenheirn Museum, take a motor launch tour to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. Or indulge in a classic gondola serenade in the most romantic city on earth. The ruins of ancient Korinth are spread out at the foot of the huge rock of Acrocorinth. The monuments are mainly Roman and only a few are Greek. You can trace the Long Walls which began at the summit of Acrocorinth and descended all the way to Lechaion, the artificial harbour on the Corinthian Gulf. Witness Ephesus-one of the greatest cities of antiquity and one of the best restored on an optional tour from Kusadasi. Walk along the marble paving, you can almost hear the steps of marching Roman region or the ardent preaching of St. Paul addressing the Ephesians. Opt for a scenic drive from Itea to Delphi, one of the ancient wonders of Greece. Witness the Sacred Way and the famed shrine where the myths say the oracle foretold the future. An amazing Bronze Charioteer is among the treasures in the Delphi museum. Ashdod is yet another of the cities that was part of the Philistine pentapolis. The city stands on the main military and commercial route to Egypt through Gaza. Port Said has a lovely view, which runs, along its attractive beach. The city is located at the northern end of the Suez Canal. Situated largely on man-made land, the city was founded on a low sandy strip separating the Mediterranean from Lake Al-Manzilah. Lying at the junction of Africa and Asia, it is a famous and vital sea route between east and west. Corfu boasts some of the most stunning scenery in the Greek Isles. Drive along the coastline and through the mountainous interior to see the Achilleon Palace built by the Empress Elizabeth, join in an island celebration and feast, or explore the winding streets of Old Town. Visit in Dubrovnik the Rector's Palace, medieval churches and monasteries, as well as the cathedral. Stop at Zarcovica Hill for superb views of the walled city and Dalmatian Coast. Or travel outside the city to visit Trsteno and Ston. Patmos is known as the site of apocalyptic Revelations of St John the Divine, written here during his exile from the Roman Empire. The cave where he lived is now the site of the Monastery of the Apocalypse. The Monastery of St John, built on one of the island's highest points, houses priceless icons and manuscripts in its treasury.
