Greece and the Dalmatian Coast
Fourteen day cruise aboard the SEABOURN SPIRIT starting on April 11, 2001 from Istanbul, Turkey.

Cruise the Athos Peninsula and Dardanelles, Volos (Meteora), Paros, Mykonos, Nafplion, Galaxidhi and Katakolon (Olympia) in Greece, Kusadasi in Turkey, Dubrovnik and Korcula in Croatia, Venice in Italy, returning in Venice.

Straddling the Golden Horn between Europe and Asia, this venerable city of Istanbul blends ageless antiquity with dazzling modernity. Visit in Agia Sofia, the Top Kapi and many more interesting places.

Join fellow guests on an excursion to the villages at the foot of Mt, Pelion or take a day's journey to one of the most remarkable sights on earth. Built by monks and hermits in the Middle Ages, Meteora is an amazing series of aerial monasteries towering 900 feet above the plain.

A walking tour of Paros town reveals the Church of One Hundred Doors, beautifully carved and gilded in styles ranging from Baroque to Byzantine. Also visit an artist's studio in the hills, and the fishing village of Naoussa with wonderful waterfront tavernas.

An optional tour from Kusadasi visits Ephesus-a great city of antiquity and one of the best restored. As you walk along the marble paving, imagine you hear the footsteps of marching Roman legions or St. Paul preaching to the Ephesians.

Mykonos is world famous. It is no coincidence that this, the most cosmopolitan of all Greek islands, attracts so many visitors from all over the globe, including large numbers of artists and intellectuals.

From the lovely port of Nafplion, take advantage of a tour to Mycenae. Here Agamemnon once ruled a city with massive walls, majestic gates and marvellous goldfilled tombs. Even partially restored, the site inspires awe.

From the hill of the Acropolis to the National Archaeological Museum, Athens holds a multitude of treasures to explore.

Katakolon is your gateway to Olympia, where the athletes of antiquity flocked to the games. Our tour includes the Gymnasium, the Palestra and the museum with its classical sculptures and relics from the Temple of Zeus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

With its towering walls rising straight up from the harbour and overlooking red-tile roofs, Dubrovnik is one of the most attractive ports in the Mediterranean. Walk in the 900year-old walled city and admire its countless treasures from medieval times.

Blanketed with green forests and surround by aquamarine seas, Korcula is renowned for harboring beautiful Venetian palace churches within its medieval walls. In the twisting, narrow streets you will find the house where locals claim Marco Polo was actually born.

At Venice make a private visit to the Peggy Guggenheirn Museum, take a motor launch tour to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. Or indulge in a classic gondola serenade in the most romantic city on earth.

This cruise is performed by SEABOURN CRUISES on board SEABOURN SPIRIT running on the following dates during year 2001.
