The ship's former name was Royal Viking Sun and was launched in 1988. Her maiden voyage was Nov 30, 1988 and Actor, James Stuart, christened her.
Cunard purchased Royal Viking Sun along with the brand name Royal Viking in 1994.
Her last refurbishment prior to her refit in Nov 1999 was in May of 1995.
Royal Viking Sun moved under the Seabourn Cruise Line banner as the Seabourn Sun in Nov of 1999.
