Greater London is run by The Greater London Authority (GLA). The current Mayor of London is Ken Livingston; he has been in charge of implementing the congestion charge, which has helped with the traffic problems the city had always experienced.

Greater London extends over a vast area and has a population of over 9 million people, while its wider metropolitan area has a population of between 12 and 14 million depending on the definition of that area. London ranks as one of the most expensive cities in the world, alongside Tokyo and Moscow. While Greater London is ranked as 4th in how many billionaires live there it also has its high rise flats and its deprived areas. The populace of Greater London is varied, with many ethnic groups congregating in certain boroughs, such as Southall in Ealing being called "little India" because most of the residence are from Asia. In a survey that was taken in the city in 2005 there was thought to be over 300 languages spoken in Greater London.

So where ever you may be visiting from, to this vast metropolis you would certainly feel at home.
