You are in:  Top  →  Europe  →  UK  →  England  →  GREATER LONDON  →  London  →  Cricklewood

Cricklewood has changed over the years from being a thickly wooded area, to a village, to an area used by the railways to now being an area with small businesses and factories. Cricklewood is part of the Borough of Brent.

The Borough of Brent encompasses a large area which includes Wembley, Neasden, Cricklewood, Willesden, Kilburn and others. It is situated in the North West part of London and is thought to be one of the most culturally diverse and cosmopolitan borough in Europe.

The southern part of the borough has a high population with high rise flats while the northern side has a far more residential; it also has the largest football stadium that of Wembley, its industrial sites and open spaces.

With so many areas near Cricklewood the visitor is spoiled for choice on what to visit, things to do in or very near Cricklewood is to visit The Freud Museum, which was the home of the psychologist Sigmund Freud and his family, his youngest daughter Anna (who Freud based most of his theories on) lived there until her death in 1982.

Another interesting place to visit is Fenton House which belongs to The National Trust; the house is from the late 17th century and has an exceptional collection of porcelain, some 17th century needlework pictures, early keyboard instruments, with most being in working order as well as Georgian furniture. The house is surrounded by a walled garden with an amazing display of roses as well as a vegetable garden.

The Mayor of London Ken Livingston has lived in Cricklewood since 2000, and itÂ’s the location of the first Hellraiser films.

Hotels in and around Cricklewood vary from the luxurious Crown Moran Hotel to the elegant Georgian Hendon Hall Hotel.

Oxford Street with its plethora of shops is only a 30 minute ride on the London Underground.
