The hotel was built in the 12th and 16th century and is 7km from the railway station in Saumur and 70km from the International airport in Tours.

The restaurant is situated on a hillside, overhanging the Royal River, the lounge bar and the restaurant offer an open view on all the Loire Valley. It serves traditional and international cuisine in a relaxing atmosphere. The wine cellar dates back to the 17th century and was used by the Benedictine monks. The hotel holds various theme nights which includes a wine tasting evening.
Social events can be held at the hotel, either in the restaurant with a capacity of 80 guests or in one of three other rooms which can cater for up to 150 people.
