The Steigenberger Insel Hotel in Konstanz is a former Dominican monastery, once owned by the airship constructor Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin, the hotel is well worth a visit.

The Zeppelin-bar was the birthplace of count Ferdinand von Zeppelin and is in the former sacristy of the monastery church.

The terrace offers outstanding location and wonderful views make the Seeterrace a box seat and undisputedly the most beautiful terrace on Lake Constance. The culinary range spans from light midday meals, Rothaus pils on tap, coffee, cake and ice cream specialities right through to a romantic diner.
