The hotel is located alongside one of the medieval gates; within the city walls. It can be found in a quiet side street, close to the market square. The railway station is within walking distance and the motorway is not far away. The nearest International airport is in Nuremberg approximately 90km from the hotel.
Since 1559, the Tilman Riemenschneider Hotel in Rothenburg has hosted guests within its historic walls. In former times it was a brewery and famous inn. Today you can find all the modern facilities but the hotel still has an atmosphere of times gone by.
Due to the age of the hotel, the bedrooms vary in size and shape, though on average they are medium sized. Some are furnished in a more country cottage style with dark wooden beds, decorated with hand painted flower designs, and others are furnished with antiques, depicting the medieval style of the hotel. All the rooms are in exceptional condition as are the bathrooms.
The restaurants provide the guests with a variety of atmosphere and style, ranging from the more sophisticated with beautiful murals of local history all around the walls, to the more relaxed Bierkeller style, with carved wooden tables and chairs and subdued lighting.
Small conferences and social functions can be held at the hotel which provides an exceptional catering service and basic audio/visual facilities. There is also private garage parking available onsite.
