Zorbas Hotel is near the town of Hania, 14 km north, at the seaside village of Stavros in the area called Akrotiri, 12 km from Hania airport and 14 km from Hania town. Stavros is world famous for being the filming location of the critically acclaimed movie "Zorba The Greek" which was based on the novel "Alexis Zorbas" by Nikos Kazantzakis.
Zorbas Hotel named after the hero of the novel, is a few metres from a small sandy beach in 30,000 sq.m. of private land and features 37 studios and 16 apartments, all of them on the ground floor.
All apartments and studios offer kitchenette, refrigerator, air conditioning unit for a fee, optional TV, safe box for a fee, coffee machine, hairdryer, iron for the clothes and own full size bathrooms.
The apartments also have a fireplace which is used during the winter; firewood is available at very low rates during the winter period.
Additional facilities of the hotel include a tennis court, outdoor chessboard, sea-water swimming pool for adults and a separate one for children. The swimming pool and surrounding deck area are about 1000 sq.m. there are deck chairs and umbrellas where guests can enjoy their beverage or snack and the sunshine.
The hotel's playgrounds in the gardens are a safe location for the younger guests to play. The gardens are well-tended and contain a wide variety of carefully selected flowers, herbs and trees which provide shelter for the myriads of birds which nest in the hotel grounds.
