Loriet Hotel in Varia of Mytilene is situated 2km from the capital Mytilene, on the road to the airport, in front of the beach and within walking distance of the famous Terriade and Theofilos Museums.
Amid the jewels of the Aegean, you will find the island of Lesvos, birthplace of Sappho and Alkaios, both famous poets, of the seventh century before Christ and in the village of Varia is The Loriet Hotel; a modern complex comprising of rooms, studios and suites and here you will find The Mansion, one of the largest and most ornate of the Classic old Houses of the island standing prominently in its beautiful garden setting.
Once the holiday home for a wealthy family who lived on the island, a venue for many social events and parties for the Aristocrats, of the area, this house played host to many wealthy and famous people. It has now been lovingly restored to once again cater for the customer that is looking for something special.
Care and attention was taken at the time of its restoration to preserve as much as possible of the original home, and its decorative features. This has resulted in quite a unique and elegant hotel.
A green Garden of Eden where particular attention has been placed to preserve every tree possible, during building the complex, which has created a tranquil haven for many birds and squirrels, a collection of unusual plants over the years, has also enhanced the wonderful gardens that surround the buildings. The Pines, which surround the pool area, are close to a Century old but still give welcome shade on those hot Greek summer days.
A feature of the Garden is the century old Oleander and Laurel Avenue once used by the Mansion's horse and carriage.
The Mansion has been restored to its original classic beauty, using antiques and rich material furnishings. Elaborate drapes surround the over sized beds creating a romantic atmosphere, hand painted ceilings and heavily carved original furnishings, take a person back in time to relive this gracious period of the past.
The Modern Units are generously sized and very well appointed, with all facilities to make your stay at the Loriet Hotel a very pleasant experience.
Dine either in the elegant indoor restaurant with its hand painted ceilings and its "Labriquien" curtains, or enjoy a hot summers night while you dine at our Poolside Restaurant. Local traditional dishes and a variety of International food are blended to give a pleasant variety, able to please the most discerning customer.
At the Loriet is is possible to organize an elegant wedding, a club function or just a small gathering with friends or family, the hotel can cater for any function from 20 to 200 indoors and up to 800 guests outdoors. A choice of three rooms is also available for conferences, with all the required equipment.
