Die Port Van Cleve Hotel in Amsterdam is located close to Dam Square with everything within easy walking distance, from the canal area to central station. For trams and busses there is the stop in front of the door.

On the 5th of September 1870 in Amsterdam Die Port van Cleve opened its doors. The name comes from the previous building on the same spot Het huis te Kleef dating from 1592 in which Heineken brewed his first beer.

The superb interior was put up with oak and original Delft blue tiles representing children playing adults in a parade. This performance was inspired by historical parades from the Golden century. This interior with all its marvellous decorations is still available in all its glory.

It has 120 comfortable rooms, divided in 98 superior, 16 executive and 6 suites including 1 luxurious presidential suite. The rooms have their own character and are decorated using warm welcoming colours completed by modern conveniences.

Following tradition, Dutch dishes have a place of honour on the menu. Also, no menu from the Brasserie De Poort would be complete without the famous numbered steaks, which have been served since 1870. Besides the special steak there is also the choice from Dutch and International dishes prepared with fresh ingredients daily.

Enjoy a good cup of coffee in the bar Coffee Corner De Hooiberg with a street front location, it is great for people watching in the centre of the busy city.

For your special party or meeting, the hotel benefits from several rooms, the historic wood panelled Regentzaal, an ideal location for a reception, dinner or meeting up to 45 persons. For smaller groups, several comfortable business suites and the private beautiful Presidential Suite are available.
