This beautiful Art Deco hotel in Amsterdam is situated on the lively Rembrandt Square in the city centre. The NH Schiller is located in Amsterdam's historic district, a short distance from the Dam Square. Around the square you can find the Palays Royal where Queen Beatrice entertains her VIP guests.
NH Schiller was built in 1912 and offers 92 authentically decorated guestrooms. The hotel itself features magnificent common areas decorated in Art Deco and Art Noveau style complete with stained glass windows and oak panelling. The rooms and public areas are adorned with 600 paintings by the former owner and painter, Frits Schiller, giving a personal atmosphere to this very unique hotel that is a part of Amsterdams history itself.
All rooms are equipped with private bathroom, in-house movies, trouser press, direct-dial telephone, modem connection and coffee/tea-making facilities.
The hotel has a spacious lobby area and a beautiful Art Deco bar and restaurant. The restaurant Brasserie Schiller is a wonderful oak panelled dining room with stained glass windows in which you can enjoy classical French/Dutch cuisine. Brasserie Schiller is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Next door to the hotel the Cafe Schiller has a covered terrace and an outside terrace, one of the few sidewalk cafes in Amsterdam.
