The hotel is located in the historic centre of Wismar just a short walk away from the harbour. The front of one part of the building is erected in a Rusty red. The other part of the hotel is the former warehouse still featuring the wooden doors for each of the three storeys from which goods were loaded or unloaded.
The Alter Speicher Hotel in Wismar is the sister hotel of the Alter Speicher in Luebeck and it is run by the same family. It is an old listed building which has been totally restored to its original beauty.
The 75 rooms are located in five different parts of the historic building which dates back form the 15th century; they vary in size due to the shape of the buildings and are decorated in pastel colours
The spacious lobby is laid out with grey tiles and the walls are covered with wood half way up. The other half and the ceiling are painted in white. The lobby features an open fire. Next to it and in the centre of the lobby is a white seating area furnished with white leather sofas. There is an internet area, sauna, solarium, fitness-machines and a few games.
The traditional restaurant is on the ground floor offers local and international food. A highlight of the hotel is the wine cellar Felsengrotte and there are a lot of national and international wines. The cellar can be booked for 20 persons or more. Wine tasting evenings are a regular occurrence at the hotel. There is also our hall bistro with a daily happy hour, so you can turn the night to something more enjoyable.
There are four conference-rooms available with communications equipment provided which have a capacity of 300 people.
