The range of hotels in Greece can vary greatly both among the islands and on the mainland, from high class on larger islands and mainland to small seasonal pensions.

HOTELS: Are all officially classified as Luxury, A, B, C, D, or E class. The category denotes what facilities must be offered and the price range that the hotelier is allowed to charge.

Depending on the hotel category a room can vary significantly in size. For example, a double room in a C class hotel is a minimum of 11 m² while the same in A class is 16m².

The usual types of rooms found in standard hotels in Greece are: Singles, Doubles, Triples, Junior Suites, One bedroom suites and family rooms.
SINGLE ROOM DOUBLE ROOM TRIPLE ROOM
This room is designated for ONE PERSON ONLY. Smaller in size than the standard double, the room is always equipped to cater for ONE PERSON only. This is the standard for all the hotels and is designated for TWO PERSONS ONLY. Usually, two single beds (1,00m X 2,00m) that may or may not join to form a large double bed. In these rooms it is possible to add an extra small bed to sleep a child. In this case there will be an extra charge for the additional bed / person. This is a larger room than the standard double equipped for three adults. Usually three single beds or in some cases a double bed and a single.
JUNIOR SUITE ONE BEDROOM SUITE FAMILY ROOM
This type of room is found in many resort hotels and is made up of one room that has adequate space for a bedroom and a small living room area all in one space. This room can accommodate a family of two adults and two young children. The sofa beds in the "living" area are used as beds. This is made of one bedroom and a separate living room. In many cases, limited cooking facilities also exist. A one bedroom suite - with one bathroom - can accommodate sometimes four adults, two in the bedroom and two in the living room. Many hotels offer this solution. Two bedrooms with one interconnecting door. A convenient arrangement if you have two children and two adults. However, this type of rooms are very few in each hotel.
SELF-CATERING: Furnished rooms in private houses, serviced flats, apartments and villas. On most of the Greek islands, rooms in private homes are an extremely popular form of accommodation.

TRADITIONAL SETTLEMENTS: Known also as “paradosiakoi oikismoi” are traditional settlements and hostels. They can be found on Makrinitsa (Pilion), Vizitsa (Pilion), Milies (Pilion), Ia (Santorini), Ierapetra (Crete), Chania (Crete, Rethymnon (Crete), Mesta (Chios), Psara Island, Areopolis (Mani), Vathia (Mani), Papingo (Epirus), Koriskades (Central Greece), Monemvasia (Peloponnese) and Gythion (Peloponnese) which offer single, double or triple bedrooms with shower, or a 4-bed house.
