Brentford
Brentford is a suburb of Hounslow and it’s situated at the union of the River Thames and the River Brent in West London. There has been a real regeneration of the area with many luxury flats and town houses being build on the docklands.

Five minutes by bus from Brentford brings you to Kew Bridge which crosses the River Thames between Kew Green in Kew on the south bank and Strand-on-the-Green in Chiswick on the north bank.

On the Kew side of the bridge one immediately comes to the Royal Botanic Gardens, it covers over 300 acres, it's a big space, so make sure you plan this trip as there is so much to see and worth spending a whole day there.

The former Grand Junction Waterworks (now Kew Bridge Steam Museum) is on the north of the bridge and one is allowed to visit it. The walk on the north bank of the River Thames called The Strand-on-the-Green offers a delightful walk with many pubs scattered right on the bank itself. The bridge can get very congested as it links the North and South Circular roads around London.

Another place to visit in Brentford is that of Syon House, it has a beautifully set garden that one can walk around, an amazing Conservatory that was the first to be build with metal and glass, there is a Tropical Garden to visit as well as garden and wool shop to browse in and a coffee shop to enjoy a leisurely lunch or just coffee and cake.

The Waterman’s Theatre where one can see comedy, theatre and films as well as different exhibitions throughout the year.

A great place to stay in Brentford would be the Holiday Inn Brentford Lock as it is on the docks with glorious views over the Grand Union Canal in the very heart of Brentford, with the hotels at London Heathrow being a 15 minute ride on the London Underground.

Hammersmith, Shepherds Bush, Chiswick, and Ealing are close to Brentford for your shopping as all have shopping centres as well as Hounslow and Oxford Street is about 40 minutes away.
