Zurich is a beautiful city, which has retained much of its historical charm, sitting astride the
Limmat River, where it merges with the
Lake of Zurich; it has a charming old town, which is full of magically restored historical buildings and narrow, hilly alleys and from the distance snowy mountains overlook the waters of the lake.
The city of
Zurich is crisscrossed by lovely low bridges, on the left bank of the city, you will find the main train station
The Hauptbahnhof and the
Bahnhofstrasse one of the most beautiful shopping areas in Europe with elegant fashion stores, department stores and boutiques with top quality products. The right bank is the site of the
Altstadt or
Old Town, and for many visitors this section of
Zurich has far greater atmosphere.

St. Peter's, which is the oldest church in
Zurich; it stands close by the ruins of a late Roman fortress at the

King Louis the German, it has the largest organ in the canton (5,793 pipes) and its most stunning jewels are the stained glass windows.
Niederdorf is a pedestrian zone and a shopper's paradise with lots of boutiques hidden away in a patchwork of alleys. At night the many bars, restaurants and street artists turn the
Niederdorf into an exciting centre of entertainment for a colourful public.
