Fujairah is also an important port for container liners and for the worlds largest livestock shipping companies, the port is a main holding station for sheep and cattle for the entire Arabian Peninsula.
Foreigners who would like to settle in Fujairah and those just visiting are not allowed to buy any land but Fujairah is a great place to visit for a holiday. It has clean beaches, with numerous water sports like swimming, surfing, yachting and deep sea fishing which attracts tourists throughout the year.
One of the most significant events in Fujairah is the Power Boat Racing World Championship, which is hosted every year in Fujairah in October and is organised by the Fujairah International Marine Club. Bull Butting is another popular attraction in Fujairah and can be seen every Friday.
There is a very popular park for all the family in Fujairah called the Ain Madhab Park, its very green with lots of different trees and flowers. About 20 km south from Fujairah is Ain Al Ghamour, is spring water where the temperature reaches 60° centigrade and is said to be able to cure diseases such as rheumatism, backache and arthritis.
