The town owes its name to the Romans who named the castle they constructed here around 9 B.C.

Moselle or from the

Strausswirtschaft (a winery or winegrowerâs cottage) where homemade wine is offered. Sometimes a sign is displayed outside, such as a broom a bottle or a bunch of birch twigs tied up with coloured ribbons.
