Mahahual is a small fishing village in the southern part of Quintana Roo along the Mayan Coast.

The place has been very recently discovered by tourism and is gearing up to accept many more than the mere trickle it can serve today. There is even a new wharf permitting cruise ships to approach.
The sea is warm and the endless palm lined virgin beaches are perfect for sunning bathing and snorkeling.
Mahahual is a good base for snorkeling and a visit to Banco Chinchoro, the largest atoll in Mexico and second longest coral reef in the world.
Several small hotels along the coast and restaurants cater for the tourist trade. You will easily find snorkeling and underwater equipment as well as adequate support from several of the hotels along the coast.
You can reach Mahahual via Highway 307 taking the turn at the south of Limones village north of Bacalar.
