Bad Orb is favourably situated with regard to traffic connections but is nevertheless set in the middle of the countryside. With parks, spa facilities and an old town with colourful half-timbered buildings, it is ideal for a cure, a holiday or a day trip.

The salt graduation works in the
spa gardens, built in 1806 are worth seeing, 155 metres long with a double thorn wall, and today it is an
open-air inhalatorium and technology monument. A microclimate similar to that at the seaside arises here as a result of the spray from the brine spring. There are 15 ha of spa gardens with a valuable stock of old trees as well as a concert hall, graduation house and herb garden with an information trail.
The old town with the
Tower of the Upper Gate and a large number of half-timbered houses, including
Hesse`s narrowest half-timbered house in the Kirchgasse (1.58 metres wide at the narrowest point). There is a museum in the old castle. The parish church of St.Martin, which was gutted by fire in 1983 and re-built and furnished in the Gothic style.
Leisure facilities in the town include Indoor thermal brine bath with 2 inside and 1 outside pools between 28-32°C, open-air swimming baths with a natural pool and a heated pool with a giant slide. There are two golf courses nearby, and a deer park with European bison.
