It is home to 22 iron, magnesium and carbonated medicinal springs, seven of which are in Reinhardshausen. However, the days of people coming here simply to take the waters are long gone. A remarkable blend of the traditional and the modern, the town now offers treatment for the following conditions: cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract, psychosomatic fatigue, general infirmity and convalescence.

The state spa of Bad Wildungen, an important health resort centre and attractive town in the Waldeck holiday region, has a special charm all of its own. Bad Wildungen has many faces, a forward-looking town with a strong sense of its history; it is also laid-back and cosmopolitan. The impressive Gothic town church was built some time between the 13th and 14th century.

You'll be hard pushed to find a more unspoilt area of countryside than the Kellerwald-Edersee nature reserve. With its rich variety of plant and animal life, Lake Edersee is the jewel of the national park. The Eder scenic route runs along one of Hessen's most picturesque rivers through the mysterious Eder Valley.
