Fujairah is the only emirate that lies in the eastern side of the UAE, along the Gulf of Oman, the other six emirates are along the Arabian Gulf. Fujairah is separated from the rest of the UAE by the Hajar mountain range from Ras al-Khaimah to Al Ain.
Fujairahs main occupation in the past has been fishing and agriculture, now though the emirate is trying to promote in bound tourism.
