Puxi is a district of Shanghai and it is situated on the west of the Huangpu River. The Bund (embankment) is a one mile-long-road by the river and historically was the financial area of Shanghai; the heights of buildings are restricted within The Bund.

The Bund is a location that many visitors to Shanghai Puxi tend to visit first because of its colonial buildings its thought to have the name "museum of buildings" as it not only has the traditional colonial architecture but also of other European type buildings, people also visit The Bund for the panoramic view of Shanghai Pudong and its skyscrapers on the other side of the river.
Shanghais old town situated in Puxi was once surrounded by a city wall, it has some fine traditional Chinese architecture with a maze of shops, food stalls and restaurants, and one of the largest Chinese cultivated pearl market is also in the area.
Just off The Bund is one of Shanghai Puxis many shopping streets Nanjing Lu, it caters mostly for the Chinese, so you may not find too many tourist type things to buy, but its a great place to go and watch some live performances of music and promotions on an open-area stage. It is an interesting place if you like to observe others shopping and enjoying themselves. You can find all sorts of unexpected goods here as well.
There are many parks and temples within Shanghai Puxi such as Jingan Park and Jingan Temple, both are ideally located near to other major attractions. The park is a very relaxing place to visit especially if you arrive near dawn as you may watch elderly Chinese meditate and doing Tai Chi.
The Shanghai Museum is a real must to any visitor to the city, its collection of Chinese furniture, ceramics, paintings and other is vast and you will need to spend more than just one day if you really want to absorb all that the museum has to offer. Do visit the Museum store for a distinctive and tasteful gift.
Just as London has "Big Ben" Puxi has "Big Ching" a highly visible clocktower at Custom House. Amongst other places to visit are the Yu yang Garden also called Garden of Contentment, the Jade Buddha Temple, which houses two Buddhas a Sitting Buddha and a Recumbent Buddha both are carved with whole white jade and the Temple of the Town Gods (Chenghuang Miao), which is a market as well as a temple.
