The federation of The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was formed and formally established on 2nd December in 1972, it consists of seven emirates; Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Qaiwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah.

The United Arab Emirates is situated along the south-eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsular and occupies an area of some 83.000 sq km. countries that border with UAE are Qatar to the west, Oman to the north and east and Saudi Arabia to the south and west. The largest city in the federation is Dubai and the federal capital is Abu Dhabi; it is situated in the emirate of the same name.
Whilst a large part of UAE is desert, (about four-fifths) the rest of the country has some amazing landscapes, breathtaking dunes to some fertile and rich places in the desert, sheer and vertical rocky mountains to abundantly rich plains.
Before the UAE became a federation it was under the protection of the British Government, but the discovery of petroleum bought not only a transformation and growth to the area but it also allowed the emirates to break away from the control of Britain. The majority of the countrys oil is found in Abu Dhabi, this makes it the most powerful and richest of the seven emirates. The UAE has both a stable economy and a high standard of living.
The climate in the UAE makes it one of the worlds greatest destinations for an unforgettable holiday. In the summer it is hot and humid with temperatures reaching around 50°C while even in the winter the temperature ranges between 20°C and 35°C.
Rain is infrequent and negligible and is mostly confined to the mountains. Sandstorms do occur due to two powerful winds called Khamsin in the summer which comes from the south and Shimal from the north or west in the winter.
The United Arab Emirates not only have wonderful weather but they have incredible shopping, luxurious hotels and restaurants, a captivating culture with a safe environment which all added together with sun, sand, sports, and sea make the UAE the holiday of a life time.
