Camden Town
Camden Town is a beverage of entertainment. It’s infused with a variety of colourful markets, shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs, theatres and cinemas. The town attracts enormous crowds of Londoners and tourists alike.

Camden Town is part of North London, in the London Borough of Camden. It is sometimes referred to simply as "Camden", but it should not be confused with the borough. It is mostly famous for its crowded market and as a centre for alternative lifestyles. The area is very popular with students, including those from overseas, and also people who follow alternative subcultures, such as Punk, Goth and Emo.

Whilst staying in the area in one of the many hotels such as Holiday Inn Camden Lock, go on a trip on the Regent's Canal which runs through the north end of Camden Town; its 8.5 mile towpath, which passes through London Zoo, is a pleasant and popular walk in summer. Boat trips along the canal, from Camden Lock, are also interesting.

A large complex of weekend street markets have mushroomed around Camden Lock since the 1970s these are of relatively recent date, except for Inverness Street market, a small food market, good for fruit and vegetables, serving the local community, though it now has a variety of things to interest the tourists that flock to the area at the weekends.

The original Camden Lock Market started in a former timber yard in 1973, and its now surrounded by other markets selling a variety of things like inexpensive goods of all types including fashion, lifestyle, books, food, junk/antiques and bizarre goods; they and the surrounding shops are popular with young people, in particular those searching for "alternative" clothing. One of these markets, Stables Market has a growing antiques and furniture trade.

Not far away is Regent's Park, a large and pleasant park which was formerly Henry VIII's hunting chase. The park holds open air theatre through some of the summer. There are spectacular rose gardens in bloom in the spring and London Zoo is at the north of the park.

The Roundhouse was a well known location for music in the 1960s but became derelict until it was reopened in 2006 where it has become yet again one of London’s great venues for theatre and music. There are a great many shops, bars, restaurants and cafes to please all tastes.

Locations very near Camden Town that offer the visitor who enjoys the more refine things in life instead of the buzz of Camden, are Regent's Park, and Russell Square or the British Museum at St Pancreas but the wonder of all that is Oxford Street is only 15 minutes by London Underground.
